How long have we been crying out for info on GTAVI?
Well, we need not wait much longer – Grand Theft Auto VI is finally getting an extended preview. The catch? It’s premiering exclusively on Netflix, August 27th (8pm GMT, 3pm ET, 12pm PT.)
After VGE3 (our coverage of all things Summer Games Fest, Indie, PlayStation, Nintendo and XBOX Showcases) came and went, it was only a matter of time before we had a new trailer in the run-up to GTA’s November 19th release. A collaborative showcase with Netflix though, wasn’t on my bingo card this year.
This collab no doubt stems from Netflix’s push into being THE place, for story-telling showcases of any format. Be it games, shows, movies and podcasts.
Now, I cancelled my Netflix sub months ago, and this won’t inspire me to resubscribe at any point. But, after giving Red Dead Redemption 2 another shot in recent weeks, and actually finishing it this time, I’m curious to see the thriving world of Vice City reimagined for a 2026 audience – and if Rockstar have found a way to finally evolve their arguably archaic gameplay loops and mission structures.
Maybe I’ll play through Red Dead Redemption 1 or GTA: Vice City, for the first times before then…
