PlayStation revealed yesterday, it would be raising PlayStation Plus for new members, from May 20th.

Yes, that’s right. Fresh from the debacle surrounding PS5 DRM policies a few weeks ago, Sony has now decided to up PS+ prices, just 2 days after making the post on X. Citing “market conditions” as their justification why.
Now what might those “market conditions” be, I hear you say?
Well, I think we all know those “market conditions” are the Concord and Marathon flop-shaped holes in Sony’s pockets.
As the post mentions, this price hike only applies to “new” customers, and I’m presuming those subscribing to the Essential tier – I’m surprised this wasn’t more clear in the post to be honest. But, let’s be real here, we all know that hike is coming to everyone, Extra and Premium Subscribers included, one day. It’s just a matter of time…
Perhaps its all some elaborate con into getting people to upgrade to a higher tier, sooner rather than later. But at the end of the day, why should we have to fork out more money, to cover Sony’s failures with their Live Service titles? New games already cost enough as it is.
Once again, it feels like another anti-consumer move from Sony, especially considering newly rebranded XBOX have taken to dropping Game Pass prices recently.
Anyone else betting we’ll get PS+ Extra/Premium price increases, before GTA 6?
